INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON SHIPPING, PORTS AND AIRPORTS (IFSPA) 2008

Description

IFSPA invites theoretical, applied and case study research, as well as proposals for panel discussions. We look forward to a wide range of topics covering public policy, business management and logistics operations related to maritime and aviation studies, as well as logistics management. IFSPA 2008 serves as an ideal platform to solicit opinions from international academics and industry practitioners. The first IFSPA was held in May 2007 and experienced great success, of which we had secured massive support from international influential academics and industry stakeholders. This year, the Conference will dedicate a special session celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Hong KongInternationalAirport(HKIA) at Chek Lap Kok. We are expecting a wide range of attendances from Asia-Pacific and other overseas regions.

Interested parties are cordially invited to submit academic papers to IFSPA 2008. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers should have clear theoretical base, supporting data, scientific analysis and be founded on sound knowledge on the topics concerned. Author should have been directly involved with the study being reported and he/she (or at least one of them in case of multiple authors) can deliver a 20-minute presentation during the Conference. We are looking for papers focusing on (but NOT restricted to):

  • Maritime Safety, Security & Piracy; Maritime Economics & Finance; IT in Maritime Management; Port & Shipping Management; Maritime Law & Insurance; Maritime Environment & Policy
  • Airline Competition & Management; Airport Planning, Operation & Management; Air Transport in Asia-Pacific; Aviation, Economic Growth & Sustainability
  • Logistics Management

All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings (with ISBN code) which will be included in the Ei Index.

Selected outstanding papers will be included in the special issues published by two prestigious transport journals, namely: Maritime Policy and Management (MPM) and Transport Policy (TP, the official journal of the World Conference on Transportation Research Society, WCTRS).

Authors are requested to submit (by email) their abstracts to ifspa2008.notice@polyu.edu.hk on or before 02 January 08, and the full paper on or before 14 March 08.

Apart from academic papers, we also welcome delegates who would like to give a presentation during the Conference, but not intending to submit a full paper. In such cases, delegates are required to submit their abstracts on or before 02 January 2008.
