Topic Manager guide

These guidelines aim to provide information for Partners who have undertaken the responsibility to maintain a given topic. Quality assurance of topics and subtopics was identified as one of the key issues for the success of the GFP site as a collaborative tool for presenting trade facilitation. Therefore, adhering to these guidelines and improving them is central to the GFP mission.

General notes on topic maintenance

A given Topic page is under the responsibility of a Core Partner's individual (the topic manager), who administers it. 

The page is divided in two parts. 

The upper part, called the “introduction” is a section that only the assigned topic manager and administrators of the website can edit.  The Topic Manager has the responsibility to update the introduction for this page based on the feedback received by GFP partners, using the template presented in the "Maintenance of the Introduction" section below. This section gets edited by clicking on the link edit plain text content, after proper log-in.

The lower part - "content part" - includes news, events, recommendations, work groups, discussion groups, activities, training, reference readings, links and newsletters, specific to the topic.  All authorized GFP Partners can post their information for these categories either specifically for this topic of for several topics at a time.  The topic manager responsible for the page will receive e-mail alerts when contents is added to his/her topic, and will regularly review the inputs to ensure that they are appropriate for the topic in question.
